QB is a unique position.
This offense is bad - like record setting bad.
QB play is bad - like 90's dark times bad.
Every other position we've seen other options. subs are the nature of the game, and there's no belief there's better in the wings. Unfortunately we also know that we have a record setting, award candidate player on the bench. The only player who hasn't had a chance to help out this cluster of an offense. Of course we want to see what he can do. Of course there's no guarantee, but the simple fact is:
Tanner put up numbers last year that we havent seen from any QB in quite a few years, and NEVER seen from a Freshman QB. It's not that Tanner's #'s as a freshman were just a bit better than Taysom's. Its that they weren't close.
To see this offense stink like it is for as long as it has, and not see all the alternatives being made available can be frustrating. Again, that's just the nature of football, but to say Tanner be worse, is just as wrong as anyone guaranteeing he'd be better. Probably more so, since any statistical analysis would indicate Tanner.
