Having LDS kids and Poly kids isn't a HUGE advantage?
Who says BYU would turn into this elite program without the honor code? I say there's more of a chance BYU wouldn't be where its at today without the Poly and LDS kids.

Academic and moral restrictions are not the same thing. HC is a legit issue for nonLDS kids.
