12's phantom 16 team league that is poised to get a mega TV deal?
I'm not sure where to start here in response to this odd theory...
- why wouldn't they stay in their existing geographical foot print based conference which has more teams and an easier path to this 16 school theory?
- why would the media companies pay the Big 12 more than other leagues especially considering the Big 12 TV markets are smaller than all other P5 leagues?
- And why would a media company pay MORE than they are paying now when all were hearing about is a TV bubble and a coming TV money crash?
Doesn't it seem logical that 12 or 14 team leagues would just add 2 or 4 in theory? Seems like a logistical nightmare to find 6 P5 teams willing to leave the conferences their happy with just to get the Big 12 to 16 teams from just 10.
With all due respect I think you and fans like yourself are simply unwilling to accept the real reasons Byu didn't get invited to the dance. It's not nearly as complicated as you're trying to make it. Byu was too much of a liability or they didn't bring enough financial gain or a combo of the two. It's that's simple.
