Wyoming Fans--a guide for the uninitiated.
It's been a few years, but I got to witness Wyoming fans first hand at the Mountain West championship game in Las Vegas in the mid 90s.
Here is what I witnessed. Many of the fans were wearing Tshirts with numerous scattered sentences each containing the F word and something relating to Mormonism. "F Joseph Smith." "F the Mormons and their F ing wives." Etc. It wasn't a few frat boys. I saw whole families including young children wearing them.
No Wyoming fan is seen carrying one beer. If they had three hands, they would carry three beers.
The volume of beer taxes the restroom facilities. When I went to use the restroom, on the BYU side of the stadium, Wyoming fans represented 90% of the urinators. There was aline 10 deep to pee in the urinals, and five deep to pee in the sink. The restroom was a urine soaked Wyoming pep rally, with loud cheering and hostility to any BYU fan who ventured in.
On the whole, I thought I would be happy to never play Wyoming again.
