lots of people in the ward make me want to. BYU fans are typically dismissive of the value of the local university and tend to think that BYU is the end-all-be-all. BYU fans typically spend every vacation and holiday in Utah and never really assimilate into wherever they live. Their hearts and minds are still basically in Utah - they haven't unpacked their bags figuratively speaking. Not really wanting to be where you are is not a good way to make friends and connections, in fact it has the opposite effect, it's divisive and contentious. I've seen more contention and angst arise from BYU than anything positive BYU-related. just my two bits.
