If you never saw Johnny Unitas or Roger Staubach or Fran Tarkenton, hard to judge the modern guys against them. And even when comparing to more modern QBs like Elway, Marino, Montana, etc. it's not a straight-across comparison because the rules have changed so much in the past few years to favor offensive players.
