..."The Story of Your Life."

If you enjoy short story fiction, I highly recommend reading it. It's exceptional.

A funny thing about Arrival is that I didn't have any idea it was based on this short story until I was about halfway through the movie.

I picked up a short story anthology years ago while on a business trip, and just read "The Story of Your Life" purely by chance and was blown away by it.

I was kind of surprised that they even tried to come up with a film based on this story because I've never thought that the short story lent itself to the visual very easily.

I liked the movie because I loved the short story -- but I can see why the movie might be confusing or boring without having read the story.

In short -- read the story, it's fantastic.
