RE: Ur assuming im inferring religion has something to do with these #s. I never
I did assume that you were not LDS and that you do live in Utah. But I did not jump to the conclusion that you were pinning these statistics on religiously based behavior. Instead, I merely pointed out that it comes across that way. (The only time I've heard it brought up in the past is when someone is giving reasons why they hate Utah.) That being said, I'm going to assume that since you are a BYU fan, that maybe you aren't a bitter hater of the church or whatever. I value your perspective and hope that you feel welcome here on Cougarboard. When you say you are not LDS and that you live in Utah and that you suffered from both, what was the biggest problem? I ask because I was raised in Utah, but have lived outside of Utah in various parts of the country for the last 20 years. I am still LDS and half my family still lives in Utah. I find myself defending Utah when people bag on it simply because I have a distaste for stereotyping people. (And my family who lives in Utah are nice decent people. So I am biased) But I do empathize quite a bit with people who aren't LDS and move to the Utah suburbs and find that perhaps their kids feel left out and maybe Mormons are friendly till they find out you aren't interested in going to church with them and then they get too busy and stop being as friendly as they once were. I imagine that it would kinda suck at times. I don't know. Would you mind giving me your perspective? Admittedly my perspective on what it might be like is based on several assumptions. You don't have to answer any of this, or if you would rather, you are welcome to message me privately. I'm not trying to suck you into a religious conversation, I'm sincerely interested in what you might have to say. Thanks.
