it's obvious they don't need him considering they won it all without him.
and came within one win of repeating. having said that - while they don't need him to win per se, he does make them better or at least will at some point.

Kevin Durant seems to be having the most irrelevant postseason of any superstar

it is way too early to tell

smokymountainrain
4/25/17 10:46am
they do need him. In those past seasons they had Harrison Barnes
thebruce

Harrison Barnes and a younger Andre Igoudala.
RdF3
4/25/17 10:50am
they'd be the favorite to win it all without him.
smokymountainrain
4/25/17 10:53am
I would probably pick Cleveland to win it that circumstance.
thebruce
4/25/17 12:54pm
You think? Golden State got up on Cleveland 3-1 with relative ease, and that was
messi
4/25/17 1:36pm
I'm not very confident picking the cavs
thebruce
4/25/17 2:06pm
Yeah, Iguadola does as good as good as job as anyone (except Kawhi) guarding
messi
4/25/17 2:16pm
Also, I do think the Cavs have the mental edge if such a thing exists. All of
messi
4/25/17 2:31pm
How worried are you about Kerr being out?
thebruce
4/25/17 2:40pm
He will be helping with game planning still and giving lots of feedback
BYU1982
4/25/17 2:49pm
Me neither. The wild card is Draymond. If he starts to become unhinged, who will
messi
4/25/17 2:57pm
You have nothing to worry about. It's over if the Warriors are healthy.
wapiti
4/25/17 4:00pm
Their decision was basically max out Barnes, or pay a higher max to KD and
messi
4/25/17 11:06am
I think Curry and Draymond are the two most important.
thebruce
4/25/17 11:39am
I agree with Green. He is the only guy on the team with any nastiness. Oh,
messi
4/25/17 11:46am
I actually think Curry is the least important of the four
wapiti
4/25/17 12:09pm
Thompson is the least important, but some valid points about curry-Durant-green
PHXSUNS31
4/25/17 12:16pm
Then you don't know enough about the team. And Curry is a pretty good defender.
messi
4/25/17 12:18pm
All you had to do was watch last night's game to see this.
RdF3
4/25/17 12:24pm
Yep. Or look at his + -, or look at how neither Durant or Klay has been able to
messi
4/25/17 12:27pm
Yeah, you are right about that.
wapiti
4/25/17 1:58pm
Curry is underrated on defense. He's actually a very good defender
byukirty
4/25/17 12:24pm
I think he benefits from being surrounded by really good defenders
wapiti
4/25/17 1:56pm
I personally think Curry is a superior offensive player.
thebruce
4/25/17 12:47pm
Yeah, Durant is the better player, but for this team, Curry is more
messi
4/25/17 12:56pm
But they also lost it all last year when Curry wasn't himself. Whether that was due to injury or he just wasn't 'on'
byukirty
4/25/17 11:20am
i think we're in agreement. without question Durant helps them - makes
smokymountainrain
4/25/17 11:32am
I think they are too weak on the interior without Durant
wapiti
4/25/17 12:11pm
Wait till there is a relevant series. GS slept walk through Portland.
PHXSUNS31

Does this make him a bandwagon player?

Meh, plenty of stars ring chase, LBJ and Shaq were in prime and many others
Mizzou-Blue
4/25/17 11:17am
Great post, and exactly right. It's funny. So many posters on this board killed
messi
4/25/17 11:30am
Do you seriously think what LBJ did in Miami was anything close to what Durant
Duke Silver
4/25/17 11:53am
Very similar. Durant joined a better situation, but Wade was arguably the
messi
4/25/17 11:58am
They aren't the same, but they're pretty close
PHXSUNS31
4/25/17 11:59am
Close as in ring chasing!?! Yes, not just close but exactly the same thing.
Mizzou-Blue
4/25/17 12:08pm
Plus, I think Durant saw how much fun it was and wanted to be a part of it.

That remains to be seen, and you're only looking at this year.
messi
4/25/17 12:43pm
LBJ would have done the same thing if he was given the opp. He wanted rings just
Mizzou-Blue
4/25/17 12:46pm
Yep, these guys are smart enough to know that their careers are viewed
messi
4/25/17 12:58pm
LBJ and Shaq did not go to a 73 win team that beat them in the conference finals
GRCoug
4/25/17 11:54am
Not really. That wasn't a good basketball fit. KD was a perfect basketball fit.
messi
4/25/17 12:01pm
And what LBJ did before him was unprecedented and people hated it and hated him,
Mizzou-Blue
4/25/17 12:17pm
You mean the guy coming off an injury? That averaged 25,8,5 this year?
Shteve
4/25/17 11:19am
He's definitely riding the gravy train.
Duke Silver
4/25/17 11:21am
The Warriors' 1st Qtr last night was about as good as basketball can be played
CaliWG

And isn't it great that his ego is such that this isn't an issue?

gwill

They lost in the finals because Malone got hurt
wapiti
4/25/17 2:19pm
"Pathetic." Lol, relax. Let go of your hate, or at least have fun with the hate.
messi
4/25/17 2:33pm
It's not hate. It's just pathetic.
wapiti
4/25/17 3:58pm
There is also a ton that don't agree with you
gwill

Yeah, Warriors fans.
wapiti
4/25/17 4:12pm
My guess is you are a Jazz fan
gwill
4/25/17 4:15pm
I guess Barkley, Miller, and a host of others are all Jazz fans too
wapiti
4/25/17 5:03pm
"Barkley agrees with me." That is about the worst argument you can make.
messi
4/25/17 5:22pm
Very different to chase a ring late in your career
wapiti
4/25/17 6:31pm
Hahahahaha, you actually believe what you're saying. If Miami was still
messi

Hahahahah. Now you're being ridiculous.
wapiti
4/25/17 7:02pm
"Lebron went to a worse team." No, he went to a team that had younger talent
messi
4/25/17 7:11pm
It's actually similar to LeBron engineering the team in Miami
wapiti
4/25/17 7:45pm
Because you got fooled by the narrative of "returning home."
messi
4/25/17 7:54pm
That's your opinion. Not all titles are made the same.
wapiti
4/25/17 8:07pm
That's a different discussion. Also, using your logic,
messi

Reading comprehension fail.

MJ to the pistons is a bad example. He never had that opportunity.
PHXSUNS31
4/25/17 4:19pm
You should listen to the podcast KD did with Bill Simmons
PHXSUNS31
4/25/17 4:17pm
And those same people said worse things about Lebron, and now fawn over him.
messi
4/25/17 4:18pm
The move was competitively weak and tarnishes his legacy
wapiti
4/25/17 5:02pm
Yeah, like Charles Barkley. Lol.

thebruce
