Their decision was basically max out Barnes, or pay a higher max to KD and
lose Bogut as well.
Easiest decision in the world. Bogut is very good, but could rarely be counted on in the postseason.
Also, by signing Durant, they have an insurance policy. They can still win it if Durant or Curry goes out.
It would be very difficult without Curry, though Durant is considered by most the better player.
The offense is built around Curry, and it doesn't really work without him.
