Because LeBron went to Miami to CREATE a great team, not JOIN a historically
great team that is coming off what probably should have been back to back championships.
The Warriors were already elite without him, and even when he hasn't been playing this year the team is still elite. The big difference between directly comparing Durant and LBJ is this: the Heat needed LBJ to win a championship, whereas Durant needs the Warriors to win a championship.
Durant needs the Warriors, they don't "need" him. He is simply a cherry on top of an already championship-caliber team.
