No adjustment for who else is on offense? No adjusted QB rating that factors in the rushing yards?
I get that it's hard to adjust for these things, but given that it's hard to adjust why is it so offensive to think that Taysom Hill is in the ballpark of Brandon Doman?
We saw a great example of BYU with and without Taysom in 2014. Look at ESPN's "Game Scores" for 2014:
http://www.espn.com/college-football/team/fpi/_/id/252/year/2014
First 4 games, BYU's average score was about 79, but in the games Christian Stewart started the average was about 52. Huge discrepancy without Taysom out there and I think Christian Stewart had a decent year on the whole.
We saw what happened when Luke Staley went down in 2001. Pretty similar dropoff in offense. Isn't that another indicator that you can't chalk up the team's total output to just the QB?
