Here is where I disagree.
First, if a player has big time talent---nba teams will find a spot for him.

Having said that with guys that are 22 years old and have limited upside.... Nba teams want to see a lot of film of them running nba sets. Nba scouts didn't like watching Mika with his back to the basket---they wanted to see him run the PNR.

If BYU played NBA sets and Mika was getting 20 and 9 out of the PNR.... Then he would have easily been drafted IMO.

Now one can certainly make the argument that he wouldn't have been as good of a player in the PNR--but the way you play and get buckets in college is a big deal for nba teams when it comes to older prospects. When they watch Mika with his back to the basket they don't see anything that will translate.

On the other hand if he's setting strong picks and rim running with strong hands and making passes out of the PNR... Teams will get excited.

It's up to Mika to show he can not only play the PNR on offense... But show that he can defend it too.

If he does well in PNR sets then he will have an nba career. We don't have any evidence that he can do it well though so it might be something he shows for a year or two in the G league.

That byu offensive scheme last year was an abomination. It hurt bigs and guards.
