NCAA has different rules than the NBA, WCC gyms are podunk compared to NBA
gyms.
So going from the WCC to the Italian league is perhaps a lateral move when it comes to basketball. So according to your analogy, its like going from the Arena League west to the Arena League east.
In the WCC he plays for a college scholarship which is worth something. In the Italian league he plays for money which is also worth something.
