That's not the reason. The real reason is this.
It all comes down to the director and staff. Just like any sports team, talent alone doesn't win you games--you need a solid leader at the helm. The BYU Marching Band is full of talented musicians, but from experience I know the staff to be sub-par compared to other schools (like the U).
