LSU, Wisconsin, Mississipi St., Michigan St., Arizona, Washington, USC, Stanford, Texas or the other named brand P5s BYU has played or is scheduled to play as an INDY.  Can't believe it.  Jason Buck must be smoking some home grown alfalfa.  I would rather play 6 P5s during the regular season, which feels like 6 bowl games in a year, than smash the MWC for a long shot at NY6.  INDY brings more $$$ than MWC.  INDY brings better opponents than MWC.  Gotta believe INDY helps recruit better than MWC affiliation. 

Weaker opponents can mean more wins, but as someone who watched BYU go undefeated in the regular season in 1979, and then again in 1984, all the while fighting the allegations that BYU only beat Bo Diddley Tech, I would much rather play 5 or 6 P5s and lose some than beat up on the weak sisters of the MWC.  $$$ for beating MWC teams is small.  $$$$ for playing P5s, is much bigger, whether it is during the season or in a bowl game.
