I can agree the OP suggests that people should be envious of those views. I can agree it was overstated.
But that is certainly a pretty view in the OP, not the desert wasteland and burger joints that you outright said (not implied). Countering an overstatement with hyperbole of your own, then doubling-down when I asked if you were serious, was not exactly your best move. Then trying to blame me for misinterpreting was further digging that hole.
Let's provide some clarity here. That is a nice view. The Wasatch Front is, in fact a desert, but it's a pretty impressive and beautiful collection of scenery in all seasons, even right from our homes here. Is it better than anywhere else in the world? Nope, but it also depends on your priorities, and what you're looking for. The proximity to some of the best the world has to offer IS pretty darn cool, whether it's what we see out our window or not. I can guarantee that some people from Europe, or other areas of the world, ARE somewhat envious of that proximity, because they have told me that as I've talked to them.
