Please clarify.
The program was by no means in shambles but the talents gap in recruiting and lack of landing talent that everyone saw happening over the last 6 years has finally reared its ugly head.
Right now on the offensive depth chart we have 31 players. Of those 31 players we have 5 seniors. 2 of those seniors came when Kalani came on board (Trinnamen and Norman). 3 seniors that Bronco recruited. That is a big deal when you do not have guys leaving early for the NFL.
On defense you have 7 players that are seniors with 33 players on the defensive depth chart. Of those 7 seniors one was a Kalani recruit (Handsome) and two are third strings and never see the field.....so 4 seniors giving solid minutes.
Our best player on offense outside of Koroma appears to be a hurt Freshman RB transfer from Wisconsin who just got back from his mission. Our best player on defense outside of Warner and Takitaki appears to be a Freshman transfer with a couple of months back from his mission.
So yeah, the program wasn't in disarray or off a losing season but the talent gap that was inherited is pretty glaring right now.
It is the perfect storm.......not enough depth at all, lack of upperclassmen talent.....and inexperienced coaches.
