We're talking about establishing the identity of a football program. I'll just ignore the semantics of when something is "brand new" or not. The point is that we're trying to establish an identity as a football program and we are doing it with three coaches who were brand new to their positions last season. 17 games of experience under their belt as a HC, OC, or DC is miniscule in the football world. It was borderline insanity for Holmoe to hire three people at the same time who had never filled their role before, but he saw the potential. There's still potential there in my opinion but they are still yooooooung in football years.
I did not expect year 2 to be improvement from year 1. I really didn't. I didn't think it would be even close to this bad, but I did expect a regression after losing so many experienced leaders and play makers.
