Most self investors average under 2% per year, most Financial advisors average

quite a bit more but because of fees the actual returns are much lower. The industry kills investors with fees. Even though I put a portion of my clients assets in the market I let them know that the average return for most folks will be somewhere between 3-5% over a 10 year period.
