It's interesting that baseball and soccer share a few things in common :
1. Both are "Grand Old Games". Baseball by tradition and actually being called that. Soccer by tradition.
2. Both are "pure" or "primative" sports bound by tradition and resistant to change.
3. Both are considered to be boring by lots of people.
