start sucking wind towards the 4th quarter. UMASS was no exception but instead of a hurry-up offense to take advantage, we took the full clock to get each play off. Hurry-up has helped us many times this year.

Also, on the on-sides kick, several players on the west side were shading their eyes because it was hard to see with the low sun. I would have liked to see the kick come to the east rather than to the west. For that though, you need a kicker with multiple skills or a well disciplined and rehearsed special teams. We have none of that. (We also didn't have a timeout to adjust if we did to be fair)

I truly think that Detmer would be much better off throwing away his massive play chart and calling plays from his gut instinct.
