When you think of great football coaches you think of people that are intense. They are usually intense competitors, demand perfection, or are very emotional.
They bring a specific attitude, fire, or whatever to the program.
Right now Kalani is doing none of that. At least nothing beneficial. Last year he was at least emotional and that probably helped the team give some extra effort during the games. But now he's turned into a guy that is they players buddy off the field and doesn't add value when the coaching hat is on.
A good coach has to stand for something and bring something to the table. I don't see any of that from Kalani right now. All I see is an anything goes type of attitude and that is not going to help a program find itself in any way.
I think Kalani came in thinking that we are going to recruit well, have some fun, work hard and win some football games. But guess what? When you are working with teenagers and young college kids you have to give them more. They will need somebody pushing them, guiding them, motivating them, and at times scaring them.
