You’ve profiled me perfectly.
My flexibility (indecisiveness) probably comes from how tough the market is right now, especially for non-traditional applicants like me. But part of it is that I don’t know exactly what I want to practice within the broad category of litigation. I’ve worked on a wide variety of cases as a clerk, but I want to see how I like a practice group as a lawyer before I commit to that type of law forever.
if I were to refine my search by location, I’d say Denver and DC would be my top two places.
And it’s really not all about the money or prestige, but that’s part of it. I have significant debt and want career mobility later. Doing biglaw for me is more about the experience. I’ve concluded during my clerkships that I enjoy working with and for lawyers that do really good work. And the chances of working with really good lawyers go up when at a biglaw firm. Or at least that’s what I’ve heard. And the resources big firms have promotes really good work. Tell me if I’m wrong though.
