...prior to his w/d from school while the other 4 guys on offense were trying to shift the defense by moving the ball from one side to the other (and back) Emery was still stuck in mode of stopping the ball movement when it touched his hands and putting his head down and trying to beat his man one-on-one off the dribble if he didn't have a good shot. I remember in the B/W game in the first half he had Schroyer throwing his hands up in frustration several times in an expression of "Whattya doing???" when he either launched an unnecessary, long, not very open shot way early in the shot clock or killed the flow of the offense to try and get himself a shot going one-on-one. I think McKay Cannon was an upgrade over Emery in this regard. He seems to be a more in control/team oriented version of Nick.
I really hope Nick gets things together in his year away and that one of the things he figures out is how he can fit into BYU's new scheme rather than try to come in and be the same ol' Nick counter to what the rest of the team is trying to do.
