You need to know what led up to this meeting to get a better perspective. With the sudden departures in the program Reid told Bateman he needed to get some JC players to keep the program competitive and if not we would struggle for a few years. Bateman told him to go with high school kids. Keep in mind that Bateman hated the fact that Roger was not better with the media. When they struggled as Reid said they would, Bateman started putting pressure on him and Roger felt that he was being set up for failure. And that is why the meeting went the way it did.
