Why do you keep saying it would be breaking the rules (or bend the rules)? What rules exactly would be bent or
broken?
For various reasons, EVERY private university in the country takes kids into their grad programs who aren't academically qualified. Ty'son checks two of these boxes: 1 Elite athlete 2 Black
There are plenty of good reasons other schools (even the Ivy league schools) accept kids like Ty'son into their grad programs.... and they aren't breaking or bending any rules in admitting kids who don't qualify academically. BECAUSE... there are no rules that say every kid must qualify academically.

They would be.... you just want to judge his merit based on a very narrow list of accomplishments. That's unwise.
