We clearly look at this issue differently.
I believe that many different factors should be considered when deciding to admit somebody and these factors should go way beyond a list of rigid criteria.
For me this is not about this one situation. I have no idea about the details of this particular situation and have no idea about the status of the admission in this case. I’m just saying that many factors should be considered, only one of which is a set of rigid academic criteria.
Having diversity in a class and giving opportunities to minorities or others in unique circumstances needs to be considered as part of the process.

They would be.... you just want to judge his merit based on a very narrow list of accomplishments. That's unwise.
