All I'm arguing is that the guys who would be persuaded by this stuff are the same who would be persuaded with the other stuff. If a recruit is genuinely interested in BYU and he's presented with the article by another coach or numerous coaches it gives BYU recruiters a tremendous opportunity to say, "Absolutely, this has been something that has been covered a lot by the media. What the article fails to cover is the experience of these 20 individuals who weren't contacted. Bryan Kehl, one of the great African American BYU linebackers has actually mentioned that he'd love to talk with you about his experience. He and Curtis Brown and A, B, C... all would love to talk about their experiencs on our campus."

While I was serving in Florida I had the opportunity to be involved with several people who'd seen negative information about the church in publications from their church, internet, etc. Several of these ended up getting baptized because they opened up to me about the issue and allowed me to tackle it head on and share with them some thoughts they didn't get from other areas.

Not all accepted, but in most instances it wasn't because of the negative things they'd read.
