While I was at BYU this year, my mom called me to tell me about an experience she had in a grocery store. She and this lady were standing in the checkout line. Being in Georgia, like any good southerners they started talking. Somehow it came up her son was at BYU. She started talking about how it was too bad about that player. Mom said yeah it was, but he did something to break the rules and we have to keep up her standards. The lady added that she completely agreed and that she now has a ton of respect for BYU for sticking with its standards instead of sweeping everything under the rug like most sports programs seem to. She said it's a great school and it was so refreshing to see someone practice what they preach.
