It's the nature of the media to take everyone's personal life and scatter it across the world. Don't accuse us as fans of "propagating this." We were #3 and a final four caliber team and we suspended a key part of our team because of the honor code. Of course the media is going to eat that up.

BYU does benefit from this. It's unfortunate for Brandon but being that he still seems to love BYU and wants to come back, I bet he will look back on this and see that it was a difficult time in his life, but he will realize that he will become a better man from it, and that even though the media threw him under the bus, at least from it he helped BYU gain respect from random people all over the country. We owe Brandon Davies big time for being mature and owning up to making a mistake without being bitter and publicly denouncing BYU like some of those idiot Deadspin Crowton recruits did. He's contributed both on the court as an awesome big player, and off the court as a fine representative of what BYU stands for and what the Honor Code is really there for: helping people develop into the best they can be. He went through more than he deserved with the media going after him. It's my hope that next year, he replaces Jimmer as the player who's name rocks the Marriott Center during team intros. He's handled this very well and he's earned our respect.
