Drive in downtown SLC and you won't see a single BYU flag?? You do realize how absurd that sounds, right? You are basing the support of the people that live in downtown with flags? It isn't as if the fans themselves are putting up the flags you clown. If so, you'd see a lot more BYU flags. Besides, you don't even see that many University of Utah flags. They are all Pac 12 flags haha!

I live in downtown SLC. I go to a singles ward at the institute building at the University of Utah. They did a show of hands as to who was a BYU fan and who were Utah fans....not even half were Ute fans. About 1/3 were Ute fans, 1/3 were BYU fans, and 1/3 didn't even raise their hand. My brother raised his hand as a BYU fan, and he attends the UofU. He also tells me that 70% of their student body doesn't care about the sports program at all there. They support their school and call themselves fans, but they don't go to the games or even watch them.

As far as TV numbers go, of course they are similar in the Utah area. BYU fans watch the Utah games and the opposite is also true. If BYU fans didn't have the option to watch both games, the ratings would not be similar. The last Utah "fan" I talked to said that they hoped to make it to 1 game this year. If not, at least watch one on tv......lots of support!
