I'm confused.
The BYU Athletic Department supposedly receives no assistance from the school/Church. It is completely self-funded.
I just don't see the problem in releasing non-Church related figures to a potential business partner. People here act like the Church or any of its subsidiaries never does business in the real world.
We may not get an invite, but the reason you suggest seems dubious.
