Because the entire country uses the NCAA tournament
as which team was the national champion. It's just the way it is. You could go and ask anybody in the country how many national championships does BYU have in basketball and everyone of them will tell you they haven't ever been national champions. They would go off of that list I just sent you and say, "these were the national champions for any given year." That's the way the way the history books have been written.
