"i can't think of anyone who could replace him" sums it up.
Whether or not any individual fan likes Bronco is irrelevant IF there isn't a replacement who we know would be better. If there isn't a replacement who would be better, then, by definition, Bronco currently is the best option, and BYU fans should have his back because he is BYU's coach. If, however, there is a replacement who would be better than Bronco, then the replacement should be hired ASAP (e.g. when Bronco's contract ends or can be bought out) regardless of how great Bronco is or how many dozens of games he has won (for the record, I like Bronco and rarely, if ever, criticize him, but my overriding concern always has been what's best for BYU - not necessarily what's best for Bronco, who will be fine financially whether he retires today or in 2022).
