Vandals Provide no Contest on BYU Senior Night

Its Senior Night in Provo and the Cougar Faithful will have to deal with a really cold, but sunny day. It snowed the night before so the field is a little wet and there are mounds of snow along the edges of the field and stadium. News leaked out that Riley suffered another rib injury (probably the same one) late in the GT game but toughed it out and is going to play tonight with a special padded vest on. Nothing will keep him off the field on his last game at LES, even though this is the game last year that he suffered his punctured lung.

Wellthis game isnt close from the beginning. It starts out a little sluggish as BYU only jumps out to a 7-0 lead after Hine ran 23 yards untouched into the endzone. Riley has thrown one INT and Williams fumbled the wet, somewhat frozen football onto the turf. Sadly, for Idaho fans, they have -8 yards of total O after the first 15 minutes and the punters foot is already sore from booting this frozen ball. Riley adds a rushing TD in the 2nd and hits Hoffman for a TD just before halftime and BYU goes up 24-0 after two.

Riley promptly leads BYU on two scores in the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half (TD pass to Mathews and rush by Quezada) and he promptly takes a seat on the bench and puts the headsets on. Taysom Hill straps his helmet on and 2013 Prep is officially under way.

Hill fumbles a snap and generally looks a little nervous, but he eventually puts it together and makes some great throws. Two things are very obvious: (1) he is much faster than Riley and (2) he has a much stronger arm than Riley. 2013 could be very fun. Highlight of Hills time is a called QB draw that he takes 33 yards to the house.

BYU dominates 45-3.
