Like ASU, Wash St., Wash, OSU
Utah will get some cash for playing in a big conference and sink miserably into obscurity. They can count on 3-4 conference losses a year from much bigger and better teams and they will regularly play in 2nd tier bowls. In a few years, Washington, USC, UCLA, Oregon and probably Washington St. will be eating their lunch and taking them out of the top 25.

In contrast, BYU, with an admittedly easier schedule from top to bottom, will have 9-10 wins a season and finish in the top 25 regularly and with any luck get into a few high profile bowls.

BYU's TV ratings will continue to spiral higher because of BYUtv and BYU-radio keeping the brand in front of people as well as the continual national exposure on ESPN. Exposure like that and having a national brand results in more and better recruits over time.

Utah will get its 2 games a year on ESPN and its bowl game on ESPN2 as well as a few games on Fox Regional. But the national following will be insignificant and failing.

Congratulations Dr. Hill. You are doing to your football program exactly what you did for your basketball program. Mediocrity in exchange for cash. But, that's OK if that was your goal -- which it has to be.

By the way, how much money are you getting over the next two years? Really? Was that really worth it?
