I suppose your rebuttal is that Cougarboarders are ...
interested in preserving the tradition of the rivalry for the sake of pure tradition... and that while Whit would throw the rivalry aside for personal gain, there is no element of self-interest in the Cougar Nation's desire to retain the rivalry...
To that... may I respectfully respond... BUNK.
BYU needs the game more than Utah does... and it is the self interest born of that greater need that is the basis for the Cougar Nations whining that the rivalry may end.
If the situation was reversed BYU would be taking the same position as Whit... just ask Utah State.
