It's a sincere question. I'm not arguing that BYU does it right. I think BYU (and Utah) boosters and fans expect too much from BYU players.

I would've been disappointed if BYU would've put on blinders with Charles West though. I would be disappointed if BYU tried to pick up players that had been booted from other teams due to criminal behavior.

I believe that there are Utah boosters and fans who are upset when Utah does this. But I've never met any. I'm legitimately wondering if anyone else has.

I see this question as the equivalent of asking Lakers fans if they aren't disappointed that Kobe got a free pass, or if we as a society really don't care if athletes commit crimes, so long as they're good at their sport.
