I think that you're trying to do something flawed. BYU's best chance for national relevance is to rejoin a G5 conference, hire someone like Ken N. to run the triple option (which I am actually quite certain BYU could run successfully, since Navy and AF can do it), recruit like Bronco did (60s is fine to win the MWC or AAC) because those guys are the way BYU wins.
But as for competing like a P5, do you honestly think the Quorum of the 12 is going to pour money into BYU football to keep up with ASU (who just paid a $12 million buyout for a coach) or UCLA or other mid-tier western P5 schools?
