I watched the 2006 and 2007 games with my buddy (a Ute grad/fan I've known forever) and his dad (a long-time BYU fan). His dad was heartbroken until the comebacks for both games, and cheered pretty loudly for both wins.
It's a game, and it's in good fun. If you have family or friends that cheer for the other side, maybe you should watch the game with them more often. Might remind you not to take it so seriously. It certainly works for me.
