Not sure if I'll call it tradition just yet, but last year my wife, kids, and I
celebrated Thanksgiving in Newport Beach for the week. Last year it was the "off year" for my wife's family and my parents were on their mission. No need to cook for just us 6. Now that my parents are back we're celebrating in San Diego County with my entire immediate family. Next year will be another "off year" for my wife's family. I'm hoping to keep this Southern California thing going to the point my wife doesn't mind if we go to her family Thanksgivings anymore.

Thanksgiving near the ocean eating catered food without cleanup is the way to go.
