When my kids were small, they made a construction paper turkey from a shoe box..
with a slot on the top. We still have it after 20 years, and we put it out the week before Thanksgiving with a pile of paper slips. During the week and up until Thanksgiving dinner, everyone writes on the slips things they are thankful for. During dinner, we pull the slips (usually 50 or more) out one at a time and everyone attempts to guess who wrote that specific expression of thanks.
