Having different incentives in different games absolutely impacts all of the
games. I addressed it above. If you have an increased incentive in one game you're much more likely to deploy your resources in a way that makes it more likely that you will win that game, even if it decreases your odds in those other games. And what if there's a spread, and you have to win by 2 to win the bet? Now do you deploy your closer in a situation where you normally wouldn't which limits his availability in other games?
