“Inside info” posts we’ve been seeing since 2010. The only thing missing here is hedging by way of telling us that the “situation is fluid”.
*Please note, I genuinely appreciate the post but in an extremely vulnerable time for BYU football— you have to accept the fact that some posters will have questions and will find the many gaps not adding up when reading a post that reads like nothing more than a tease and a relay of a couple of buddies Saturday night speculation conversation.
We’ve seen many of these before.
1. Step one, keep it vague but with enough common sense conjecture to make it appear plausible.
2. Step two, claim to be “protecting” sources which merely comes off as your source or yourself don’t have solid enough or confidence in the information therefore you’re unwilling to state with any degree of confidence.
3. Step 3, make mention that it hasn’t been “finalized” while implying its likely to happen and you knew it all along.
4. Step 4, make reference to how your “source” would somehow know how each school and each AD/school president in a 10 team league would feel about BYU without mentioning this is nothing but an assumption because it would be impossible to think that every school representative would be showing their hand out in the open.
5. Step 5, double down on being vague. This acts as a shield against anyone willing to question or debate what’s been inferred.
