He's absolutely right. No other major sport has the strange setup of D1 college football. The only realistic way forward
IMHO is to have a 16 team playoff, with all conference champs getting an automatic spot. At least that way, you can say every single team has a shot.
Otherwise, the bowls will continue to be more and more meaningless and all the top recruits will flock to the 6-7 teams that have a real shot at the playoff. The problem keeps compounding.
