My ex pries every piece of information out of the kids that she can. Fortunately my kids have never asked about finances. Due to the situation, they know there just isn't a lot of extra money laying around even though I make good money.

I tell them as much as they want to know. How much I make, what the mortgage

We tried to teach them financial principles but weren't very specific about what we make or how many assets we have.
