I have three boys, and the middle one is on the Spectrum (high-functioning). He lives a relatively normal life, but one thing that he lacks is a filter. I'm afraid that our personal business would end up being shared during a class discussion at church or in school.

Our last two wards that we've lived in over the past 10 years have been pretty affluent, and it is sometimes hard for my kids to understand why we don't live in a huge house or why I won't buy an $85K pickup truck just like his friend's dad. By national standards, we are significantly above the average income, but we are probably in the bottom half of our ward (lots of successful business owners, doctors, etc.). I've had to explain more that once that I can't just go out and buy a new car/motorcycle/side-by-side anytime I want to, like some of our friends do, and that's OK.
