I grew up with my dad sitting at the kitchen table every month going over his budget, and my mom worried she was going
to get in trouble for spending too much money. My das seemed to always worry about money, but we never seemed to not have what we needed.
Years later I went with him to buy a car, and when asked how much he made, I was surprised to hear his answer. I was also a bit ticked since I grew up thinking we weren’t always doing so well.
I decided then I’d never be as vague with my kids as my dad was with me.
