There are very few called runs (or keeps on Read Options) early in the game. Late in first half or in the 4th Q, he uses it much more frequently and effectively. It opens him up to fewer hits and makes his runs much more "clutch" (which will give him confidence if we get in games where we needs his legs more).
It's ALWAYS been tough sledding with our tradition run game against P5s. But this year, we have the patience to stick with it, and those 1-3 yard runs in the 1st Q turn into 3-5 in the 3rd Q and then gashes in the 4th Q (particularly at home).
So yeah, it sucks to go three and out multiple times early...but ultimately, you gotta keep poking and prodding and pushing that D. Anae always abandoned it too early.
